Kings Pointe Water park Resort Kings Pointe Resort in Storm Lake Iowa opened August 2007. The resort is located right on the shores of Storm Lake a 3200 acre natural lake in northwest Iowa. Kings Pointe is part of a USD39 million Project AWAYSIS by the city of Storm Lake. Project AWAYSIS intends to transform the shores of Storm Lake into a tourist destination. Kings Pointe Resort offers 70000 square feet of outdoor and indoor family water parks featuring thrilling waterslides lazy river and plenty of chances for year round waterpark fun. The Discovery Plunge an enclosed raft ride with virtual reality fun packed into a 420 foot descent. The slide features technology that allows riders to experience one of 8 different virtual reality action themes such as sea creatures storms hot air balloon rides and sharks. Riders select their adventure from a touch screen at the top of the slide tower and then experience this adventure on the descent complete with sights and sounds. This technology is the first of its kind for Iowa waterparks. This same technology powers the Electric Eel slide in our indoor waterpark.
